Since its inception 15 years ago, Kerchanshe has established a track record of fair trading and excellent customer service, and now employs over 1,250 permanent staff and 10,000 seasonal staff. Directly and indirectly, it impacts the livelihoods of over 1 million coffee growers throughout the southern and south-western coffee-cultivating regions of Ethiopia.</p>
<p>The passion for fine coffee is coupled with consistent reinvestment not only in improved infrastructure, technology and processes, but Kerchanshe also invests 10% of its annual profits into social responsibility programs such as building schools and providing clean water to the communities it serves</p>

<p><strong>Job Purpose</strong></p><ul><li>To lead and manage multiple operations of the tax practice area and to deliver quality tax services, that will increase firm’s reputation through complying with all tax issues.</li></ul><p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><p><strong>Generic Duties:</strong></p><ul><li>Plans, leads, organizes, staffs &amp; controls department’s overall activities.</li><li>Designs and implements procedures, systems, and tools to maximize departmental operating efficiency.</li><li>Assesses risks by following industry trends to ensure profitability, company survival and provide solutions.</li><li>Coaches, mentors, and develops employees through periodic performance evaluations and ongoing performance dialogue and feedback.</li><li>Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and undertake disciplinary actions if the need arises.</li></ul><p><strong>Main Duties &amp; Responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p><ul><li>Develops, implements, and monitors the Department’s strategic, operational plans and budgets.&nbsp;</li><li>Determines the company’s tax position and the applicability of taxable/non-taxable instruments.</li><li>Identifies and mitigates tax risks.</li><li>Reviews and processes Withholding Tax (WHT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) schedule into the proper tax location, tax types, tax categories, taxpayer entities, and tax amounts.</li><li>Follows up compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements and guidelines and ensure timely and accurate payment of all tax and customs, and pension obligations to the concerned authorities.&nbsp; &nbsp;</li><li>Develops external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g., auditors, statutory and regulatory bodies such as the Ministry of Revenue (MoR).&nbsp;</li><li>Drives improvements to processes and systems to improve the tax compliance process and cash forecasting process.</li><li>Manages timely preparation of statutory payments and ensures that all paid to concerned bodies on time.</li><li>Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.</li></ul>
