Job SummaryLiquid waste plant operators monitor and operate computerized control systems and related equipment in wastewater, sewage treatment and liquid waste plants to regulate the treatment and disposal of sewage and wastes. Monitors control panels and adjusts valves and gates to regulate the flow of wastewater through treatment processes.&nbsp;Assures the proper operation of wastewater treatment plants and collection systems in accordance with company and Ethiopian &nbsp;policies and procedures.Role And Responsibility<ul><li>Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment in wastewater treatment, sewage treatment and liquid waste plants to regulate the flow of sewage through settling, aeration and digestion tanks, and to treat and dispose of sewage and wastes.</li><li>Tends pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum filters, and other equipment used to decontaminate wastewater (sewage) by settling, aeration, and sludge digestion</li><li>Test and adjust chemical feed rates to ensure that disinfection processes meet quality standards, perform sample collection, preparation, and laboratory testing.</li><li>Under supervision, may operate computers for process control and monitor SCADA systems, and to maintain the daily operational logbook.</li><li>Collect and test samples at various stages in the treatment process to identify sources of contamination.</li><li>Collect waste and sewage samples, test and analyze results and adjust plant equipment and systems as required.</li><li>Complete and maintain plant logs and reports, inspects daily and maintains the condition and appearance of all stations</li><li>Perform CILT on plant equipment to ensure that the facility operates in accordance with required standards</li><li>Disinfect and deodorize water with minimal environmental impact by introducing cleaning and treatment substances into the plant’s systems.</li><li>Communicate with supervisors, coworkers, other employees and upper management regarding operations, plant conditions and other essential information</li><li>Operate the plants economically and effectively.</li><li>Ensures that valves are easily opened and closed, pipes, reservoirs are free of any leakage.</li><li>Periodically the valves are easily opened and closed, Pipes, reservoirs are free of any leakage</li><li>Conducts maintenance &amp; repair work if any malfunction or unusual operation in any of the machines/equipment detected.</li><li>Leads the weekly general cleaning activities and annual machinery maintenance program.</li><li>Observes safety regulations at all times.</li><li>Ensures that all machineries/equipment and control devices in the plant are properly functioning.</li><li>Collects data and records the required parameters.</li><li>Maintains machinery/equipment and follow -up the smooth operation.</li><li>Observes safety regulation at all times.</li><li>Performs other related duties as directed</li></ul>Position&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Office of Maintenance Department</li></ul> Reports to &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>&nbsp;&nbsp;Utility &amp; Site Facilities Manager &nbsp;</li></ul>
