The Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) was established in 1961 with a vision to see a healthy and prosperous Ethiopian community who accesses quality health services through enhancing physicians&rsquo; professional capacity and guarding the rights and benefits of medical professionals so that professionals would be enthusiastic to discharge quality services and respect professional ethics. From its establishment, EMA has been organizing continual medical education (CME) and consistently promoting continual learning with the aim of keeping its members abreast with advances in medicine.
In order to deal with the critical shortage of the human resources for health in Ethiopia, the government and partners are working on standardizing the in-service training and continual professional development (CPD). The Food, Medicine and Healthcare Administration and Control Authority (FMHACA) has issued a directive to make Continuing Professional Development (CPD) mandatory for all practicing health workers. EMA recognizes that professional associations should lead CPD activities to strengthen the health system sustainability. Hence, the association has established this online system with the goal of contributing to the quality of health care by increasing access to CPD and joint learning among partner professionals.

Ethiopian Medical Association

The Ethiopian Medical Association (EMA) is one of the first professional associations in Ethiopia and was stablished on July 2, 1962 G.C with 100 founding members through a formal charter granted to it by the then Emperor Haile Selassie I. EMA is member of World Medical Association since 1994 G.C.&nbsp;EMA’s head office is based in Addis Ababa and has a presence in five regions represented by its 12 regional branch offices (Gonder, Mekelle, Bahir Dar, Dessie, Jimma, Adama, Harare, Hawassa, D/Markos, Assosa, Wolkite and Arba Minch). EMA has been operational for over 60 years on promoting quality of medical service in Ethiopia and evidence-based medicine through publishing the Ethiopian Medical Journal (EMJ). The mission of the association is to: Ensure that the community gets quality health service and care; promote the highest standards in medical education, science, art and practice and Ensure the rights and benefits of medical professionals (doctors) and act as their voice.&nbsp;Thus, the association would like to invite experienced and competent candidates for the following listed vacant posts:&nbsp;&nbsp;JOB SUMMARY&nbsp;The Ethiopian medical Association (EMA) is a membership organization representing Medical Doctors registered to practice in Ethiopia, with a vision to see healthy and Prosperous Ethiopian community having access to quality health services, and mission to ensure the community gets quality health service EMA promotes the highest standards in Medical Education, Science and Art, and it ensures the rights and benefits of Medical doctors.&nbsp;Under the supervision of the Medical Excellence Activities and following the EMA policies and procedures, the Digital Learning Advisor is responsible for the development and implementation of digital learning strategies, providing guidance on best practices in online education. This role involves collaborating with educators, administrators, and technology teams to enhance the digital learning environment. He/she will also work with Higher Education and Continuing Education Development Centers to enhance digital learning and create a ground for online learning. Develop digital learning materials and ensure their utilization is also a main responsibility of the digital learning advisor.&nbsp;Duties and Responsibilities&nbsp;Key Performance Area (KPI) 1: GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES&nbsp;<ul><li>The Digital Learning Advisor shall have the following duties and responsibilities under this KPI</li><li>Lead, manage, and coordinate the overall activities of digital learning components of the Medical Excellence Activities.</li><li>Prepare, submit for approval, and implement the approved annual plan of the Medical Excellence Digital Learning Activities.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare and submit for approval a budget of/for the digital learning activities of the Medical Excellence Activities&nbsp;</li><li>Represent EMA before third parties.</li><li>Assess and identify the digital learning needs of faculty, medical schools and CPD providers.</li><li>Monitor and evaluate the performance of the digital Learning Activities in collaboration with the Monitoring and Evaluation officer of EMA</li><li>Closely work with medical school deans and CPD Providers to enhance their digital learning activities&nbsp;</li><li>Ensure accurate and on time submission of all reports related with digital learning&nbsp;</li><li>Evaluate the effectiveness of digital learning initiatives and recommend improvements.</li></ul>&nbsp;Key Performance Area 2: Advise Digital Learning &nbsp;&nbsp;<ul><li>Develop and deliver training sessions and workshops on digital learning tools and methodologies.</li><li>Collaborate with instructional designers to create engaging online courses and materials.</li><li>Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for digital learning platforms.</li><li>Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in digital education.</li><li>Design and develop online courses and modules for healthcare professionals in digital health, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and instructional design principles.</li><li>Collaborate with subject matter experts and instructional designers to create engaging and interactive online learning experiences.</li><li>Work with medical schools in creating a dashboard to monitor curriculum implementation and evaluate accreditation status&nbsp;</li><li>Incorporate multimedia elements, such as videos, interactive quizzes, and simulations, to enhance learner engagement and knowledge retention.</li><li>Utilize learning management systems (LMS) and authoring tools to develop and deliver online courses.</li><li>Adapt existing face-to-face CPD programs and courses into online formats, ensuring effective translation of content and learning objectives.</li><li>Modify instructional strategies, activities, and assessments to suit the online learning environment.</li><li>Coordinate and deliver digital CPD programs through various modalities, including virtual platforms, webinars, and online learning management systems.</li><li>Manage and maintain the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), including user management, course catalog management, and troubleshooting technical issues.</li><li>Monitor and analyze LMS usage data to identify trends, user engagement, and areas for improvement.</li><li>Design and develop digital tools and platforms to monitor and track healthcare professionals' CPD activities and progress.</li><li>Create online portfolios, dashboards, or tracking systems to document and showcase learners' CPD achievements and competencies.</li><li>Implement mechanisms for learners to record and reflect on their learning experiences, outcomes, and professional development goals.</li><li>Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MoH) to work on the Integrated Human Resource Information System (IHRIS) related to CPD to contribute data analysis, and ensure EMA accredited CPD centers trained, access and utilize IHRS</li><li>Contribute to data analysis, system updates, and reporting requirements within the IHRIS framework.</li><li>Collaborate with the Ministry of Health (MoH)&nbsp;
