Since its inception 15 years ago, Kerchanshe has established a track record of fair trading and excellent customer service, and now employs over 1,250 permanent staff and 10,000 seasonal staff. Directly and indirectly, it impacts the livelihoods of over 1 million coffee growers throughout the southern and south-western coffee-cultivating regions of Ethiopia.</p>
<p>The passion for fine coffee is coupled with consistent reinvestment not only in improved infrastructure, technology and processes, but Kerchanshe also invests 10% of its annual profits into social responsibility programs such as building schools and providing clean water to the communities it serves</p>

<p><strong>Job Purpose:</strong></p><ul><li>Responsible for providing strategic legal advice and support to the company while protecting the company's interests along with administering and maintaining policies and objectives in an accurate and timely manner.&nbsp;</li></ul><p><strong>Main Duties and Responsibilities:</strong></p><ul><li>Provides strategic legal advice and support to the company, function head, and settlement of court cases where warranted,</li><li>Provides accurate and timely counsel to the Company on a variety of legal topics,</li><li>Develops and ensures the implementation of corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company's interests,</li><li>Conducts litigation, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, and appearing in court,</li><li>Undertakes extensive review/research of laws, legal documents, instruments, or other material that are applicable to Kerchanshe and prepare studies, briefs, reports and correspondence,&nbsp;</li><li>Ensures the delivery of legal services and resources to accomplish corporate goals, strategies and priorities,</li><li>Drafts and reviews contracts, including commercial contracts, employment contracts, and intellectual property agreements,</li><li>Collaborates and works closely with retention lawyers and related legal proceedings,</li><li>Represents the company in pursuing any legal proceedings,</li><li>Develops and supervises control systems with the view to prevent or address violations of laws, regulations, and guidelines,</li><li>Provides training on legal issues to employees and other stakeholders,</li><li>Oversees the periodic review of contracts, policies, and other legal documents of the Company to ensure compliance with regulatory standards,</li><li>Supports the communication of compliance-related issues with employees across all divisions of the company and addresses any and all concerns they may have about legal, ethical or compliance matters,</li><li>Participates in the preparation, publication, and distribution of authorized commercial compliance guides and other instructional materials to help internal staff and external commercial partners achieve clarity on commercial compliance requirements,</li><li>Perform other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.</li></ul>
