CARE Ethiopia
CARE started working in Ethiopia in 1984 in response to severe drought and famine that devastated the population and claimed the lives of nearly one million people. Since then, the organization&rsquo;s activities have expanded to address the root causes of poverty and vulnerability.
In 2008, CARE Ethiopia&rsquo;s office moved from a project-based approach to a more focused and strategic program-based approach. Over the eight years since that transition, CARE Ethiopia has implemented a series of programs with successful outcomes, while simultaneously impacting the policies and practices of government, serving as a thought leader amongst NGOs, and bringing transformative change to rural communities. These broader and deeper impacts go beyond the direct impacts of its programs and are a result of CARE Ethiopia&rsquo;s overall country strategy, which enables CARE to design for scale.

I Job SummaryThe female-only internship program is a one-year program with the primary objectives of empowering young female graduates and impacting the organization's gender parity that provides emerging female talents an opportunity to apply knowledge and enhance skills through mentoring and coaching, expanding their professional network, working on value-added projects, gaining hands-on experience, and getting acquainted with the oriental difference.The project officer intern is required to assist in the implementation of uplift her project activities. Specifically, she is expected to support the project manager and the field technical teams to effectively implement the project and HER unit program implementation. UPLIFT HER is a seven-year project that will be implemented in the West and&nbsp;East Hararghe zones&nbsp;of Oromia and Afar regions of Ethiopia. The Project aims to improve the&nbsp;provision of&nbsp;comprehensive&nbsp;and inclusive&nbsp;gender and adolescent&nbsp;responsive&nbsp;primary SRHN services.II. Responsibilities<ul><li>Support the project staff in reviews meeting, reporting, manual preparation trainings and other project-initiated workshops&nbsp;</li><li>Prepare ToRs for project initiated trainings, meetings and provide event report after these events.&nbsp;</li><li>Work on documentation of projects lessons learned, best practices and filing&nbsp;</li><li>Lias the unit with finance, procurement, HR and admin on transaction that the project team will be engaged.</li><li>Support the field office project team in liaising to procurement, HR, finance, and program/admin support</li><li>Assist in the learning brief, technical brief, and project best practices preparation.&nbsp;</li><li>Assist in the collection of case stories and MSC, and write up</li><li>Engage in field visit, preparation visit report and keep clear records of travel documents.</li><li>Assist in documenting all program-related files on the organization’s shared file</li><li>Assist the project to track financial performance and budget expenditures variance in consultation with the project manager</li><li>Provide technical and logistic assistance to project staff and other counterparts as needed to lead the implementation of UH project at the community level.&nbsp;</li><li>Participate in capacity building trainings, for the project staffs and government partners.</li><li>Facilitate and ensure availability inputs required for the implementation project led workshop, meetings and trainings.&nbsp;</li><li>Prepares minutes of regular project management team meetings and ensures regular follow-up on recommendations with project and other relevant staff.</li><li>Manages printing of necessary projects resources for the project and implementation team (field office and field team)&nbsp;</li><li>Technically support in scaling up of the lesson and learning on adolescent SRH, nutrition and economy and life skill intervention&nbsp;</li><li>Work with project staff to facilitate and ensure availability tools for project result and learning capturing.&nbsp;</li><li>Produce infographics on project performance quarterly</li><li>Works closely with other project staff in planning and implementing the project activities.</li><li>Participate in different project related assessments.&nbsp;</li><li>Support organizing Meetings/workshops and prepare reports/minutes.&nbsp;</li><li>Support preparation and review of learning and technical briefs.&nbsp;</li></ul>III Gender&nbsp;<ul><li>Understanding and demonstrated commitment to the importance of gender, youth and social inclusion issues.</li><li>Demonstrated commitment to principles of Gender Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and PSEAH (safeguarding), as evidenced in previous positions / programming.</li></ul>Monthly Stipend - 216$
