Mary Joy Ethiopia is a nonprofit development oriented organization serves the community for the past 28+ years dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable communities by advancing and implementing integrated development program focuses on livelihood enhancement, education and heath with cross cutting issues of children empowerment, environmental protection, Adolescent and Youth Sexual Reproductive Health and HIV/AIDS and inclusiveness. Mary Joy Ethiopia needs to hire a Chief of Party based in Addis Ababa.
Currently, Mary Joy Ethiopia has been awarded fund with the Cooperative Agreement No. 72066320CA00015 with USAID for Family Focused HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Services in SNNPR and Sidama regions to be implemented by three consortium members, EKHCDC, Progynist and CVDA for the period October 2020 -September 2023. The operational sites include Hawassa, Dilla, Yirgalem, Butajira, Hossana, Sodo, Arbamich, Mizan aman, Tepi, and Jinka.
The project is aiming to contribute to meeting Ethiopia goal to achieve 95% of all PLHIV knowing their HIV status; 95% of all people with diagnosed HIV infection to receive sustained antiretroviral therapy (ART); and 95% of all people receiving ART will have viral suppression. The OVC/C&T Activity will expand initiation of HCT, ART initiation and VLS among 100% KPs and PPs and their biological children in the targeted SNUs. Job Summery
The Chief of Party (COP) will provide strategic, managerial, technical leadership and management oversight to the project. The COP will oversee and supervise the project teams and has supervisory roles. COP will oversee all aspects of project implementation, including program quality, personnel and financial management. The COP administratively accountable to the executive director. COP will maintain close coordination with USAID and other stakeholders, ensuring that all project interventions are of high quality and lead to measurable impact. S/he will be responsible for timely and adequate implementation of project activities, deliverables and execution, monitoring and reporting of the project. The COP will serve as the principal liaison to USAID/Ethiopia and will have regular communication with the USAID/Ethiopia Agreement Officer’s Representative. The COP is responsible for ensuring compliance with Mary Joy Ethiopia policies and procedures and USG rules and regulations. The COP will be responsible for ensuring sub-awardee compliance and monitoring quality of program implementation. The position will be based in Addis Ababa with frequent travel to project operational sites.
