Senselet Food Processing is a start-up company, looking for ambitious, eager-to-learn and talented Argo Manager who want to take responsibility and accountability in actively build the Team. Senselet is a part of PepsiCo making potato-based snacks and food products for the Ethiopian market and aims to become a leading food processing company. Currently, our modern processing facility, using the latest European processing technology, is located in Tulofa (65 km from Addis Ababa).
Responsibilities and deliverables
§ Delivering the planned volumes on time with the right quality by Supervise the quality control and assurance of potatoes before transport to factory and upon arrival at factory
§ Managing commercial famers and recruiting new one in the pipeline.
§ Managing and executing of Clustering, Mechanization, and Irrigation projects.
§ Negotiate and ensuring the right prices are in place for the purchase.
§ Implementation of capability plans for the Agro team.
§ Ensuring business processes are in place and up to standard.
§ Manage and deliver of supply chain and logistics optimization.
§ Overall Execution of Senselet’ s smallholder program and manage expansion within the program.
§ Engage and manage relationships with government stakeholders and NGO counterparts
§ Manage and supervise Agronomists to deliver the planned trainings.
§ Execute the monitoring of performance of potato producers through farm visits and inspections (production schedule, diseases, harvest, etc)
§ Advise potato producers on agronomical practices, diseases and other
§ Oversee training of other agronomists and farmers on potato production
§ Participating in potato related workshops and meetings
§ Manage contracts and relationships of stakeholders in the sector
§ Execute PepsiCo Positive initiatives in Agro team.
§ All other tasks assigned by manager
Education: relevant degree in agronomy, horticulture or agriculture and related
Experience: minimum 10 years of relevant practical work experience for a private organization in horticulture.
Technical skills: Team management skills, analytically strong (problem solving), strong communications skills, good technical skills (ploughing, planting, disease recognition, fertilizers, chemicals, irrigation, harvesting, storage, logistics) in horticulture (e.g. potato, tomato, vegetables).
Social skills: serious and hard-working, eager to learn, good feedback mentality, result oriented, taking responsibility and accountability, good in building and maintaining relations with farmers and others.
Entrepreneurial skills: flexible and autonomous working, enthusiastic and willing to travel.
