Organizational Background
Splash International (hereinafter “Splash”), is a U.S.-based non-profit organization registered and licensed in Ethiopia as a foreign charity (certificate number 3038) by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia Charities and Societies Agency in accordance with proclamation number 621/2009 on April 30, 2013. Splash is at the forefront of a growing movement to ensure that children in urban poverty have the resources they need to thrive and reach their full potential. Splash designs child-focused water, sanitation, hygiene, and menstrual health solutions with government in some of the world’s biggest cities. Splash is dedicated to bringing water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) solutions to children living in urban poverty in Asia and Africa, improving their health and development through sustainable and scalable WASH solutions.
Initiated in 2019, Project WISE (WASH in Schools for Everyone) aims to deliver comprehensive WASH infrastructure, behavior change activities, and menstrual health services across all public schools in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and recently in Bahir Dar, Ethiopia.
Splash international want to hire consultant for its Citywide WASH inventory in Bahir Dar for a short period of time to identify major intervention areas and intervention modalities.
Objectives of The Consultancy

Scope and Focus of The Consultancy
The consultancy service will be based in Bahir Dar and aims to conduct the current water, sanitation and hygiene situation assessment of all government schools in Bahir Dar (about 56 schools) found in the urban center, peri-urban areas and rural kebeles of the city administration.
The consultant will work together with the Bahir Dar city water utility office, Water & Energy Bureau and Education Bureau experts to undertake the assessment and produce a study document which will help to plan, implement, monitor, and deliver key targeted interventions based on the standards.
In addition to the consultancy work, it is expected to develop a response strategy for the identified gaps with a consultative and targeted approach
Tasks and Responsibilities of The Consultant

Generally, the assessment must be undertaken, including assessment of the health condition of the girls, their hygiene behavior, the existing facilities, the mainstreaming of WASH in curriculum, knowledge and skills of the teachers on WASH, the available teaching materials and the budget.
