Federation of Ethiopian Associations of Persons with Disability (FEAPD) would like to hire competent professionals for the following positions in contractual basis for its project.
Background: The Federation of Ethiopian Associations of Persons with Disabilities (FEAPD) secured a grant on the project entitled “Together for Inclusion – (TOFI) for a period of two years (January 2021-December 2022). The overall objective of the programme is to contribute to the fulfilment of the rights of persons with disabilities in Ethiopia. Enable Inclusion Africa’s member organization in Ethiopia to gain information, skills and organizational capacity to become strong human rights advocates. The Project is expected to contribute in creating synergies between DPOs and NGOs to be vibrant actors to advocate for the rights of children and adults with disabilities, build capacity of INGOs and government and raise awareness in communities. The programme targets change on three levels: individual, organizational and systematic (duty bearers on local, regional and national level) to bring about change, activities will be implemented within the thematic areas of Human Rights Advocacy (HRA), Inclusive Education (IE) and Economic Empowerment (EE), in addition to an integrated focus on mental health within all three areas. The project will reach adults and children with disabilities, as well as DPOs, schools and learning centers, and a range of institutions related to individual’s social protection and economic empowerment. Beneficiaries also include government and non-government agencies. To this end, FEAPD is implementing the TOFI project, in close collaboration with other Co-implementing partners in Amhara, Oromia & SNNPR and Addis Ababa City Administration.
Description of Tasks:
The Social Inclusion and Advocacy Officer will be based in FEAPD head office and responsible for FEAPD Amhara, Oromia & SNNPR and Addis Ababa City Administration TOFI project activities. Under the overall guidance of the National Project Coordinator and Programme Manager, he/she is responsible for assuring that the TOFI project implementation is well planned, Carry out and consulted among the TOFI project team, regional BOLSAs and other relevant stakeholders. S/he is responsible for the capacity building of DPOs and lobbying government sector offices towards disability-inclusive development endeavors among other responsibilities.
