Provide quality Sexual Reproductive Health and Right services (40%)
SRHR officer will actively promote gender transformative approach to SRHR.
Responsible for project design, project implementation and monitoring while ensuring quality project delivery of the overall sexual and reproductive health rights. .
Given that a significant and increasing amount of the work is done through community mobilization, a key aspect of the role is nurturing, developing and facilitating the achievement.
Ensure the technical soundness, appropriateness and general quality in project design and planning and implementation
Ensure the mainstreaming of CP, Disability and Inclusion in the project implementation.
Ensure gender equality and the rights of girls.
Provide timely the delivery of SRHR component in project implementation.
Involved the project planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
Prepare and develop in consultation with appropriate stakeholders annual work plans and project plans.
Ensure M&E and learning in close collaboration with the M&E team.
Ensure quality and timely reporting and documenting of project activities including preparation of quarterly/yearly project progress reports;
Safeguarding Children and Young People (Safeguarding) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI)
Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures.
Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understands their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies;
Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day to day work.
Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
Qualifications/ experience essential:
At least 2 years relevant experience in an international NGO or similar organization.
Computer literate in word processing and excel packages.
An understanding of child rights and their protection and fulfilment in the development context.
Qualifications / experience desirable:
In-depth knowledge of project cycle management and child centred community development programming
Knowledge of development issues, trends, challenges and opportunities and implications to community development
Knowledge of effective participatory Monitoring, Evaluation and Research systems and processes
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with colleagues.
Gender analysis and gender mainstreaming skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation
Strong negotiation, influencing and problem solving skills.
Numeracy and the ability to interpret financial data, in order to understand budgetary processes including planning, monitoring and reporting.
