About Office of the First Lady of the FDRE The Office of the First Lady of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia was formally established in July 2013 within the office of the Prime Minister. The objectives of the Office are lobbying, networking and advocating for an inclusive social and economic development with particular focus on women and children. Social welfare and the economic empowerment of women are the core issues that drive the interventions of the office. Under the leadership of H.E Roman Tesfaye, First Lady of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, the office is actively working on five prioritized programme areas. These are Women Economic Empowerment, Quality Education, Cancer Prevention and Control, Nutrition and ending HIV/AIDS.
