Ethiopia and US show interest to replicate their strong bilateral relations in peace and security in to excellent economic and investment relations. Prime Minister Hailemariam met Ambassador Michael Forman, representative of the US Ministry of Trade.

Ambassador Forman asked the premier to continue to encourage the private sector to make the most of the opportunities that AGOA offers. PM Hailemariam told the Ambassador his country is doing mammoth investment in the infrastructure sector to increasingly prop up the private sector’s role in the country’s economy.

Mr. Hailemariam explained Ethiopia’s readiness and preparation to do the best it can to effectively benefit from the opportunity US provides in its “Obama Africa Energy Project”.

Ambassador Forman affirmed US support to the East African country in its effort to accede World Trade Organization in a way it maximizes the interest of Ethiopia.
