The job holder will be responsible to form part of a primary health team providing curative and preventative health care to displaced and host population assess all pregnant women as per protocol, including for detection of gender-based violence and STIs Ensure all pregnant women receive ferrous sulphate/ folic acid / vitamin A, TT vaccination, Malaria prophylaxis per protocol Vaccinate pregnant women and women of child bearing age with tetanus toxoid as per protocol To supervise TT campaigns as required Refer any pregnant women with illness to the doctor for consultation Refer any high risk pregnancy to the nearest referral centre Refer all normal deliveries to defined referral points. Undertake safe deliveries in emergency situations To manage basic obstetric emergencies at primary level and refer To carry out postnatal care ensuring regular postnatal visit, ensure postnatal drug therapy – fefol, vitamin A are provided To supervise a system that promotes breast-feeding monitors neonatal infection To ensure all low birth-weight babies are identified and monitored. Ensure all documentation/records are accurately completed, including birth/death registration Provide health education messages on maternal nutrition, breastfeeding the importance of EPI etc To train community health workers on key aspects (saving new born lives) of maternal and child health care Ensure all medical equipment is clean prior to use.Sterilise instruments as per protocol To ensure adequate family commodities in the clinic To provide family planning services in the midwifery clinic and to ensure Health officers have sufficient stocks To work with PHO, local agents and community health volunteers to provide information on family planning commodities To work with PHO and community volunteers to set up womens’ groups in each camp/ community To work with PHO and community volunteers to provide information to community /refugees on gender based violence services To provide treatment and counselling for gender based violence survivors providing referrals to hospitals as required Ensure safe disposal of all sharps and clinical waste Traveling extensively, as needed Assisting in emergency response to disease outbreaks, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for the position, applicants should be Registered Nurse, qualified from recognized college /university Diploma /degree experience in primary health care delivery and referral systems experience in dispensing and vaccination and have a Proven track record in sexual and reproductive health, including maternity, and nutrition Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work as part of a team and demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, motivation, and maturity Willingness to travel in field/outreach activities and work in a limited-resource refugee camp setting, previous experience with NGO work also fluency in English
