JOB SUMMARY:
The job holder will be responsible for the successful implementation of the designated child protection program, management of child protection program budget and staff. The CP manager is accountable for quality of child protection program, budget management of all awards for which he/she is the designated budget holder, capacity building and training of CP staff and timely submission of monthly, annual and donor reports. The CP manager is responsible to liaison with other partners, donors, SCI Addis staff, UNHCR and ARRA. The CP manager will also be responsible for CP program, monitoring, supervision, documentation of progresses of programme activities. Moreover, the magnitude of his/her duty has extended to undertake strategic planning, program development and provide technical supports, proposal development, joint assessment in collaboration with Addis Ababa child protection and Humanitarian team.
Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
To be considered for the position, applicants should have preferably a Master’s degree in Social work or social psychology or Bachelor degree in an area of social development or equivalent with a minimum of 3 year (for master’s degree) or 5 years’ (BSc) experience in child protection/FTR programming. Experience in refugee or displaced population settings an advantage. S/he should have highly developed interpersonal and communication skills including influencing, negotiation and coaching ; highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures; strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mind sets; experience of working successfully with senior managers in other parts of own organization or partner organizations to deliver major change; experience of successfully implementing changes to processes to improve and monitor quality standards and impact achieved; experience of managing and shaping programmes to deliver greater efficiency and effectiveness, and of strengthening implementation of financial control processes; Solid budgeting skills and knowledge of key donor regulations; experience of solving complex issues through analysis, definition of a clear way forward and ensuring buy in. The incumbent should also expected to have ability to present complex information in a succinct and compelling manner; ability and willingness to dramatically change work practices and hours, and work with incoming surge teams, in the event of emergencies; fluency in English, both verbal and written, required; ability to work in challenging and at times, insecure settings; commitment to Save the Children values.
