Job Description: The Finance Officer is expected to perform professional-level financial and cost accounting analysis, accounting and budget-related work involved. He / She is expected to work independently, apply accounting principles and procedures while preparing accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensuring appropriate accounting control procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general ledger accountability, cost accounting and financial reporting, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Compile and analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts
Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
Responsible for general ledger and all financial reporting including preparing tax returns
Analyze transaction and store documents to properly determine unit cost of goods purchased and or produced.
Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities
Develop and maintain financial databases and ensure accurate and appropriate recording and analysis of revenues and expenses
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Analyze and advise on farm activities including revenue, cost and expenditure trends, financial commitments and future revenues
Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Performs other related duties as required
Job Requirement
Job Requirements: The Finance Oficer must ensure the integrity of accounting information by researching account issues for compliance and by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting. He/She is expected to have an ample knowledge in accounting, time management skills and ability to monitor the administration of a number of different tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting,
More than 5 years of experience,
Experience in using Peachtree accounting, finance and generally accepted Accounting Principles
Good command of working knowledge of MICROSOFT Office systems and applications including internet
Good command of spoken and written Amharic and English languages
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills
Effective time management and problem solving skills
Ability to work independently and in a team oriented environment
