World Learning Inc./Ethiopia (WLI/E) was established in 1996 basing its Country Office at Addis Ababa. WLE implements its programs in nine regions and two city administrations.
Mulu 2 Project: This five-year project supports policies and programming to strengthen the HIV/AIDS response in at least one hundred workplaces within various sectors of Ethiopia’s economy including construction, mining, agriculture and manufacturing among others. Within and around workplaces, the project will aim to improve health -seeking behaviors, increase access to quality reproductive health and HIV prevention services, and strengthen the capacity of public and private organizations to develop policies and mainstream HIV prevention into the core business of their institutions.

Position Title 1 : Quality Assurance and Mentoring Officer
Job purpose: Quality assurance, training, supervision, mentoring and admin for MULU Workplace partners
No. Required : 1 (One)
Duty Station : Willing to be assigned anywhere (Bahirdar, Mekele, Dessie, Metehara, Jimma, Metema, Hawassa, - - - )
Qualification/Experience:
Diploma in health, social sciences, or related field (First degree is preferable)
5-6 years experience in HIV/AIDS program implementation, peer education, Counselling, and community and social mobilization Program management qualification or experience (advantage)
Key competency requirements:
Ability to motivate partner organizations staff on various levels through consultation and supportive supervision
Ability to motivate worksite based health peer educators through consultation and supportive supervision
Ability to utilize initiative, innovation and strategy in HIV combination prevention interventions
Excellent knowledge about the HIV combination prevention and the Workplace context
Training and understanding of SBCC theory, concept and practice
Training and experience with health peer education
Experience and proficiency in supportive counselling in HIV
Capacity to operate in challenging fieldwork conditions
Capacity to communicate appropriately and effectively with a wide range of partners including sub-grantee management and Worksite management
Ability to compile reports in Amharic and English
Demonstrated ability to multi-task
Capacity to work under pressure in achieving multiple set objectives
Excellent organizational skills; administrative, time management and program management
Fluency in English and other national languages. Speaking local language is a plus
Excellent computer skills: Windows XP Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, internet and e-mail use)
Key performance areas:
Provision of QA and support visits to Worksites (both management, site coordinators and health peer educators
Liaising with and supporting Worksite staff in mainstreaming HIV combination prevention.
Ensuring the maintenance/distribution of updated, distributed and comprehensive local referral directories.
Compilation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly quantitative and narrative reports on MULU HIV prevention activities conducted.
Maintaining organized and complete hard and soft files.
Conduct and train to conduct IPC sessions focusing on main drivers of the HIV epidemic.
Ensure that community mobilization activities focus on MARPS and increase testing numbers within these groups
Take part in and support trainings for Worksite staff
Maintain close collaboration with worksite staff in to support all aspects of MULU Workplace services and QA upon roll-out
Tasks: To be accomplished in conjunction and at the request of the MULU Workplace Coordinator
Develop prevention mentoring and supervision schedule
Organize and manage logistics and procurement for prevention trainings and meetings
Maintain QA tools and forms and files
Work closely with Addis Ababa M+E staff to ensure tight and proper M+E compliance on prevention work and with Worksites and sub-grantees including the reaching of targets by partners
Organize, maintain and populate computer and hard copies of files regularly
Compile and circulate QA documents to partners in a timely manner as a result of QA visits
Compile reports
Complete travel requests, vehicle requests, timesheets, and trip reporting in a timely manner
Compile training reports and maintain clean, orderly training files (hard and soft)
Liaise, with, support and communicate regularly with MULU-l regional coordinators on prevention issues
Maintain contact details for all partner prevention staff
Provide training in various prevention related topics to Worksite prevention partners
Conduct quarterly QA/supervision/mentoring site visits to Worksites (unless more is requested)
Compile and submit requested/required reports to MULU Workplace coordinator
Conduct on the job mentoring and skills building for Worksite partners
Perform any other duties as assigned by the MULU Workplace coordinator
Special job requirements:
Willingness and ability to transition from desk and admin work to travel and challenging fieldwork conditions
Ability to work independently and with fidelity to World Learning and care for organizational assets
Willingness to work odd hours through agreement with supervisor
Ability to respond to ever changing, fast paced and constant requests for action and documents
Terms of Employment: One year contract with possible extension Salary: As per the scale of the organization Closing Date: July 31, 2014
