The MNCH coordinator, based at woreda health office, will be in charge of the overall management of the USAID funded Empowering New Generations to Improve Nutrition and Economic opportunities (ENGINE), a multi-sector nutrition project, at woreda and community levels.
The position holder will provide nutrition related technical support and ensure the quality of project implementation at all levels. He/she is responsible to strengthen woreda level nutrition multi-sectoral coordination; ensure efficient and timely implementation of activities as per the approved operational plans; regularly mentor and coach health facility staffs, and facilitate regular and joint supportive supervision with zonal, woreda and community levels.
The position holder will be responsible to maintain close contact and liaises with woreda health and agriculture offices; assess gaps and link with regional offices. The incumbent will be expected to ensure quality of documentation and use of nutrition and health data at woreda and health facilities. Moreover, the position holder will be responsible for timely production and submission of reports for MNCH and livelihood and other deliverables to ENGINE regional offices.
Job Requirement
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED To be considered for the post, applicants need to have BSc degree in public health or nursing with a minimum of 4 years experience in nutrition, maternal and child health, HIV/AIDS and livelihood programs among which 2 years in NGO setting with experience/knowledge of supporting USAID funded grants. Experience on Livelihood and economic strengthening activities will have an added advantage. S/he should have good understanding of Health Sector Development Plan(HSDP IV), National Nutrition program (NNP) and other health related policies & strategies; demonstrated skills in partnership building and interpersonal communication; excellent and demonstrated skills in computer Microsoft office applications (Word, Excel, Power point and outlooks, emails); excellent reporting writing skills.
