Background
The Institute for Peace and Security Studies (IPSS) is a premier African institution with the mission to promote peace and security in Ethiopia and Africa through education, research, and professional development. The Institute trains skilled professionals in conflict prevention, management and resolution as well as in peacebuilding, and promotes the values of a democratic and peaceful society.
Tasks and Deliverables
· Assist and Provide overall support to the management and coordination of the research department;
· Assist with the development of work plans, background papers, concept notes, reports, and other materials;
· Assist with the publication and dissemination of publications of the department;
· Review relevant literature as advised by the research department
· Prepare proposals for research grants
· Assist the department with making arrangements for workshops and meetings.
· Provide assistance in data collection and analysis.

Qualifications
• BA/MA in social sciences, preferably in peace and security studies, political science, global studies, development studies or any other related field of study
• Excellent knowledge of the African development landscape in the field of peace and security
• Excellent writing and research (both qualitative and quantitative) skills
• Very good knowledge of ICT tools for data collection
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
