This role will closely support the HoP in driving the Procurement Function acting as a key member of the team by leading the team’s robust application of key category management tools, supply chain analysis and business needs analysis
Assist the HoP to form, coach and develop the Procurement into a high performing team, by enhancing local Procurement capability in all aspects of best-in-class Procurement skills – Strategy development, Contract management, Industry/Economic/Supplier Analysis, Value chain mapping, etc
Implementation of HoP-designated key projects through effective project management, utilizing appropriate e-procurement tools to maximize speed, efficiency and drive of benefits e.g. e-RFI’s e-RFP’s, e-auctions, spend analysis.
Supporting the Function’s control and risk agenda, - including CARM, IFRS, SFRM
To deliver ongoing savings of 3 – 5% pa on total spend
To develop a supply base capable of supporting the META growth agenda
Job Requirement
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years Procurement experience in an FMCG environment, preferably in the area of Indirect spend
Excellent knowledge of world-class procurement systems, processes and practices
Excellent negotiation and communication skills with significant evidence of savings and value delivery
Excellent knowledge of contracting
Sound commercial awareness and the ability to contribute to the wider business process outside immediate functional responsibilities
Strong leadership skills to build and maintain effective cross - functional teams in a virtual team environment
Proven track record of delivery in challenging business environments
Ability to engage and influence a wide range of senior stakeholders
Previous experience of working in developing economies would be an advantage
