Invitation for Consultancy Service as Data Collectors
Family Health International (FHI 360)-Ethiopia
BACKGROUND: FHI 360 is a non–profit human development organization providing technical assistance in the areas of HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment, food and nutrition, livelihood, communications, education programming to the Ethiopian government as well as NGOs and other stakeholders in the response to AIDS and development challenges in Ethiopia. FHI 360 has been in Ethiopia since 1996 providing technical assistance primarily in health and later in various development areas.
The USAID WASHPALS Project, together with Plan International/Ethiopia, PSI and the Amhara Regional Health Bureau will be conducting formative behavioral research to explore the behavioral feasibility of using a child playpen (AKA play space) to protect children from exposure to harmful pathogens that affect growth and development. Last September, WASHPaLS (FHI360 under subcontract to TetraTech) and PSI conducted a user-centered design workshop that yielded two locally-designed play spaces for 6-10-month-old infants. These playpens, together with one imported model, will be used in the aforementioned formative research/household trial to test the idea of creating a hygienic zone for young children.
Accordingly, the Project is currently looking for qualified Data Collectors to undertake the Formative Behavioral Assessment of Infant and Young Child (IYC) Play Spaces in two selected kebeles and 10 gotts of Bahir Dar Zuria Woreda, Amhara Region.
