Organization background
Doctors with Africa CUAMM is an international NGOsfunded in Italy in 1950 with the aim of supporting developing countries in their effort to build sustainable and accessible health systems. The organization’s mission is to reduce the needless loss of lives in development and emergency contexts caused by lack of effective health care, and to contribute to improve health outcomes among the most vulnerable group of the population.
CUAMM, in collaboration with Oromia Regional Health Bureau, SWSZHD, Wolisso and St. Luke Catholic Hospital Wolisso - Ethiopian Catholic Church-Social and Development Commission (ECCSDCO)has been implementing various health projects with an overall aim of strengthening accessibility, quality and equity of MNCH services, and also improving the health information management system and disease surveillance system in South West Shoa Zone of Oromia region. Moreover CUAMM is providing technical and financial support to Wolisso St. Luke Catholic Hospital and College of Nursing guaranteeing the delivery of quality medical services to the people living in the zone.
Description of activities and expected results
The PH Area Coordinator is in charge of ensuring smooth implementation and coordination of the public health project activities implemented in the Wolisso area, in coordination with the local health authorities and in conformity with the country laws and internal procedures of the NGO, donors and partners, in order to reach the expected projects’ results and in the respect of available resources and deadlines.
