JOB SUMMARY
ROLE PURPOSE:
Oversees development and administration of safety and security and ensures communication throughout all SCI operational areas is reliable. Advocates and promotes a strong safety and security communication protocols within the field level, develops and implements maintenance schedules; develops communication procedure and radio operation protocols; Oversees the protection and safeguarding of staff, office and guest house buildings and facilities from any risk prevailing in the areas.
SCOPE OF ROLE:
Reports to: Consortium
KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
• Assess the required safety and security threats, communication devices and recommend to the field/Project offices;
• In collaboration with the Head of the safety and security and the respective field/project offices, the position holder will develop SOP and Contingency plan for new field/project offices and recommends as required;
• Conduct training on personal Safety and Security to the concerned field/project staff at the field/Project Offices;
• The position holder is also conducting security risk assessment as well as program specific security assessments on an ongoing basis in the field/project offices;
• In addition to technical documentations for the safety and security management, the position holder, in close collaboration with the Head of Safety and Security, reviews the safety and security documents, and develop new ones as appropriate;
• Supports all departments in all Field/Project Offices by addressing safety and security issues and distributing timely information on all matters related to safety and security in project areas;
• Monitor potential and present emergencies and keep the consortium, field staff and the Head of Safety and Security informed of potential events, including response management options and project impact;
• Performs other duties as assigned.

· Bachelor’s degree or equivalent college level education in related field;
· Minimum of five years of progressive experience out of which three years’ experience in monitoring and/or investigating safety practices or incidents;
· Demonstrated very good written and oral communication skills in prior positions with fluent command of English to effectively compose and edit technical documents;
· ability to independently review technical documents, interpret and organize data and information as required;
