The Family Planning/Sexual and Reproductive Health Officer will work under the direct supervision of the FP/SRH Project Officer (PO) and will be based in one of East Hararghe, West Hararghe, West Arsi, Addis Ababa and Sidama Woredas. The Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) Officer will be responsible for providing technical assistance to HI project cluster SRH service provider, health facilities (public and private). S/he will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a system for regular communication with SRH service provider through practical and onsite technical assistances with the aim of improving quality of Person with Disability inclusion to FP/SRH services.This project will be implemented in consortium with Marie Stops Ethiopia (MSE), Family Guidance Association of Ethiopia (FGAE), International Rescue Committee (IRC) and Development Media International (DMI).
Job Description
Project Implementation and Management Support
· Support consortium members in continuous quality improvement of integrated inclusion of person with disability accessing the FP/SRH services and stand-alone FP/SRH service delivery in clinical and community-based settings.
· Develop monthly workplan and discuss with her/his supervisor and other technical advisors as needed.
· Effectively plan, organize and implement awareness-raising campaigns and experience sharing opportunities with the PO on person with disability accessing the FP/SRH services
· Monitor whether cluster health facility staff, DPOs, and cluster management committees (CMCs) are implementing the agreed project activities based on standards and agreed timetable.
Proper Documentation and Record Keeping
· Ensure proper documentation and efficient use of project’s resources.
· Produce terms of reference and activity reports for each activity implemented.
· Coordinate with consortium partners and local stakeholders to provide inputs for the periodical reports to be submit to the Project Officer as required.
· Carry out regular recording and reporting of activities, field trips in coordination with other team members.
· Develop user-friendly person with disability inclusion awareness-raising material/manuals.
· Conduct stimulating and effective training and information sharing sessions.
· Translate short documents or review the translation of awareness raising materials to local language.
· Conduct training need assessments and trainings for target beneficiaries, CHW, local FP/SRH service providers (public and private) and DPOs.
Maintain a High Quality of Work
· Maintain a high level of knowledge and skills in understanding disability, inclusive family planning and sexual reproductive health services and methodologies for inclusion of person with disabilities.
· Coordinate with WISH-PO to ensure the project and its activities comply with local laws and regulations, HI standards and donor requirements.
Responsible for Implementing the Safeguarding Policies at Project Level
· Prepare work plans and implement safeguarding (child protection, prevention of beneficiary sexual exploitation and abuse [PSEA] ) activities.
· Ensure that local partners are aware of the safeguarding policies and facilitate trainings to build their capacity in this regard.
Relationship Management
· Cooperate with local government counterparts and other stakeholders to realize the project objectives.
· Maintain conducive working relationships with partners, beneficiaries and other stakeholders to facilitate the implementation of the project activities.
· Never been convicted; free from khat, smoking, alcohol and substance abuse addictions
Education:
Degree in sexual and reproductive health or related field
Personal qualities:
· Minimum of 2 years of programmatic and technical experience in SRH/FP programs funded by donors.
· Work experience with NGOs on FP/SRH projects.
· Experience in community development and community mobilization.
· Knowledge of local languages and command of English is an asset.
