Canadian Physicians for Aid and Relief (CPAR) is a Canadian based international development organization with its home office in Toronto and country offices in Ethiopia, Tanzania, and Malawi. CPAR has long been in development and has well established organizational set up at each country field office. Since its inception, it has implemented many programs that range tackling the poverty at grass root level to capacity building of different sectors which includes health, natural resource management and agriculture sectors.
CPAR has been active in Ethiopia since 1984. Its initial intervention was predominantly focused on famine relief through the provision of emergency health service assistance to people affected by famine. The CPAR’s major humanitarian and emergency interventions were supply of skilled personnel, medical supplies and materials for emergency, water, sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), and health services. In response to the changing environment, CPAR is currently shifting from a broad based development model for health programs to a capacity building of Health System Strengthening (HSS) as a core area of focus by setting new vision and mission. CPAR is interested to hire a Senior Program Officer to who support the realization of its vision and mission.
Principal Function:
The Senior Program Officer will have the responsibility of ensuring the smooth running of all the program activities pertaining to CPAR-Ethiopia in accordance with the general policies, procedures, budget and instructions put forwarded by the Country Representative.
