ICAP’s overall program goal is to mitigate the impact of HIV/ADS and improve the quality of life of PLHIV, their families and communities in Ethiopia through provision of technical and material assistance to build the capacity of the Federal Ministry (FMoH) and the Regional Health Bureaus (RHB), and regional Universities in designing and implementing comprehensive, coordinated and evidence-based HIV interventions, build the capacity, and transition ICAP’s roles and responsibilities.
Job Summary
The ICAP Program in Ethiopia has been in full effect since 2005 supporting Ethiopia in HIV program designing and implementation of compressive and quality HIV care and treatment program. As part of its current support portfolio at national and regional levels, ICAP will intensify its support to capacity building and transitioning of roles and responsibilities local partners. There is, therefore, an increased and critical need for documenting past experiences, continued operations research, and ongoing operations research and impact assessment based on systematically collated data that will inform programmatic decision-making, support improvements in quality of services, and collated a d disseminated as required. The Implementation Science Advisor will undertake these activities and provide technical support and advice to Departments and Units in matters related to operations research, program impact assessment, and documentation.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Under the supervision of the ICAP Country Director, the Incumbent will:
· Assist in developing strategic framework for operations research, impact assessment and documentation
· M.D and or Master in Public Health or Epidemiology
· At least six years’ experience in operations research and impact assessment
· Demonstrated skills in designing and conducting surveys and operations research and impact assessment, including HIV programs
· Ability to independently develop and implement the responsibilities stated in the job description
· Skills in independently conducting trend and survival analysis
· Knowledge to interpret cohort, trend and survival data
· Proficiency in oral and written communication in English language
· Interpersonal, organizational, supervisory, and presentational skills
· Able to make frequent travel to field sites
