FH Ethiopia, a non-governmental organization engaged in relief and development activities, would like to invite potential candidates to apply for the following position:
Position: Safety and Access Officer (SAO)
Duty Station: Addis Ababa
Duration of Contract: One year contract with possibility of extension

Purpose of the Job
The SAO will support the Operations Director to reduce the risks posed to FH staff and assets in Ethiopia, particularly through the provision of specialized, coordinated and focused field support. S/he will maintain, implement and further develop the existing safety regulations at field level. The SAO will conduct security assessments, provide training and orientation for national staff, analyse incident reports and security updates, assist in providing direct safety and security management in regard to emergency response, and respond to safety-related inquiries in a timely manner.
This role will include continuous assessment of the context and advising on risk management in the field; appropriate updating of the security guidelines and ensuring that field working practices are robust and that all staff are aware of, trained on, and adhere to the policies and procedures. Integral to the position is the ability to work successfully with field teams to build capacity, thereby driving personal responsibility for security management. Further, the SAO will assist in the development of information networks with other humanitarian NGOs and main State and local Government as well as field community leaders in order to facilitate and secure FH field operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Key Result #1 – Safety assessment and policy implementation – 35%:

4. Ensure that all safety and contingency policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to;
6. Evaluate, review and update all safety and contingency policies and procedure as necessary;

Requirements
· Education –Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
· Experience –Minimum of three years related experience in the field preferably in a similar INGO.
