Purpose of the Position:
The Finance Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining all necessary financial controls, systems and processes to meet internal WAE and Partner financial management requirements in order to ensure the efficient and effective management of the organization’s finances and compliance with organizational and statutory requirements regulations and procedures. Producing management accounts, budgets and cash-flow and other financial reports. The post-holder is responsible the effective and efficient management of the Procurement and Logistics function and ensuring service standards.

Actively support the proposal development and budget planning for concept notes, the donor report preparation and funding matrix updates.
7. Audit:
Facilitate the external audit process and the preparation of financial accounts for the audit. Lead the development of action plans based on audit recommendations and monitor progress on achievements.
8. Equity and inclusion:
Ensures that E&I principles are mainstreamed in all interactions of the Department
9. Value for Money/Financial Efficiency:
Promote value for money as part of the organizational culture. Develop procedures for assessing the value for money that WaterAid obtains in all its activities in Country Programmes, identifying cost saving mechanisms and ensuring financial efficiency in the workplace.
Qualification (Know How):
A) Education
Required:
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Desired:
* MA in related field of study, ACCA or equivalent qualification is a plus
B) Experience
Required:
* Minimum of 6 years relevant and proved hands-on work experience in senior finance position
Desired:
* Proven experience in financial and administrative management preferably in development organizations
* Experience of procurement and logistics
C) Technical Skills
* Excellent knowledge and understanding in accounting, financial control, concepts, practices, systems, and procedures.
* Outstanding planning, organizational, analytical and decision making skills.
* Excellent written and oral communications skills
* Proficient in the use of computers particularly MS Excel and financial management software preferably in accounting software especially knowledge of SUN System and Vision executive,
* Proficient in the use of computers particularly MS Excel and financial management software such as Sun systems.
